Through a veil lit dimly, like a closet wishing well, where what I said still lingers like a fading, tolling, bell. Lift me up through its ceiling, like a swinging light and chain, where what I asked you was secret but my answer was plain.

where circumstance and providence trade places when I call, and my debters hung like shadows rise up and then dissolve. Through a veil lit dimly, where you heard what I said, where I thanked you for the morning and I ate my daily bread.

Where my right hand touched you and my left hand didn't know, and that same hour filled it with a gift I couldn't hold. Through a veil lit dimly where others cannot tread, where my words get swallowed by the silence overhead.
